Brian Stanley
Board Member
Brian Stanley is an accomplished writer, producer, and director whose creative journey spans more than two decades across stage, film, and radio. His artistic career began with a passion for youth engagement, founding an afterschool drama club for middle and junior high students eager to perform.

Brian refined his craft in the Playwrights Workshop at Chicago’s renowned ETA Creative Arts Foundation under the mentorship of the late Useni Eugene Perkins. From there, he went on to write and produce more than fifteen stage productions through his company, Firahs B Productions.

Currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Independent Film and Digital Imaging at Governors State University (expected May 2026), Brian continues to expand his creative reach. Since 2023, he has co-hosted the Taste of Theatre Radio Show, which airs Thursdays at 8 PM on 88.9 FM in Chicago and streams worldwide at radio.iit.edu. He is also developing a new program, The Third Act Hour (launching February 2026), which will highlight the arts, career development, and counseling for college students.

In addition to his creative pursuits, Brian serves as Faculty and Staff Advisor for the Media Arts Club at Prairie State College, where he leads a Workforce Development Grant supporting students interested in media and entertainment careers.

A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Theta Mu Lambda Chapter), Brian is deeply committed to community involvement. He lives in Flossmoor with his wife Shaneka and their son Brian Jr., where he has also volunteered as a youth coach for baseball, soccer, and basketball.
